Roasted Squid recipe – Kerala Kanava Roast Recipe
Squid/ Calamari/ Koonthal/ Kanava is a popular sea food. Squid is low in calories, contains no saturated fat and is high in natural protein. There are different ways of making squid. This Squid roast is a delicious and spicy preparation.
Try this out and surely you all will like this spicy dish.
Ingredients
Clean and cut the squid into rings. In a pan add 4 tbspn of coconut oil and add sliced onion. Saute well till the onion become light brown in colour. Now add ginger garlic paste, green chillies, curry leaves and saute for 3 minutes. Add kashmiri chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, chopped tomato and saute for 4 minutes. Add the clean squid, water and salt and mix well. Cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes on a medium flame. After 10 minutes take the lid and add garam masala, pepper powder and coconut oil and mix well and roast it for 5 minutes on medium flame. Delicious squid roast is ready to be served with rice, appam and chappathi.Method
