Savala vada recipe- Onion Vada  ഉള്ളി വട –  Ulli bajji – Ulli vada recipe

Savala Vada is one of the simple and tasty snack.

Ulli vada is a popular Ramadan Iftar Snack item for Indians (Ramzan snack Item) especially Keralites.

Ulli bajji or Onion vada can used as a teatime snack or nalumani palaharam.

There are different varieties in vada like parippu vada, cabbage vada, uzhunnu vada, pappada vada, etc. 

It is an easy snack item can prepare within minutes.

It is one of the favorite snack item for the children. 

Try this spicy vada in your kitchen and enjoy!

Ingredients

  • Big Onion - 1 no (chopped into long thin pieces)
  • Gram Flour (Kadala Mavu) - 10 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1/4 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Green Chilli - 1 no (chopped)
  • Water as required
  • Salt to taste
  • Coconut Oil - for frying

Method

Step 1

Mix all the ingredients to make a very thick batter with required amount of water. The batter should be thicker than the Dosa batter.

Step 2

Then heat coconut oil in a pan.

Step 3

Deep fry each spoon of onion batter in oil and serve hot Savala vada with tomato sauce.
