Saudi Shorbaย really has to be the simplest and easiest soup in the world to make. It uses simple ingredients and no blending is required.ย Soups are gentle on the digestive system and are a good dish to prepare for the breaking of the fast.
Ingredients
- Onion - 1 chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove chopped
- Tomatoes - 1 chopped
- Cumin seeds - 1 tspn
- Oats - 1/2 cup
- Chicken - 3 small pieces chopped
- Pepper Powder - 1/2 tspn
- Salt to taste
- Water - 4 cups
- Magi Chicken Cubes - 1
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tspn
- Coriander leaves - few
Method
Step 1
Heat a pressure cooker add vegetable oil, onions and garlic. Saute well.
Step 2
Add chopped chicken pieces, chopped tomatoes, cumin seeds, oats, water. Stir well and bring this to boil and then cover the pressure cooker and reduce heat to simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 3
After 5 minutes check whether chicken is tender and the oats have turned mushy. Add salt, chicken cubes, pepper powder and cook for 3 more minutes.
Step 4
After 3 minutes switch off the flame. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot.
