Vendakka Paal Curry recipe ( വെണ്ടയ്ക്ക പാൽ കറി ) or Lady Finger ( Okra ) recipe is a tasty vegetable Kerala curry usually serves iwith rice, chapati, dosa, etc. Lady Finger is also known as Okra. This high fiber vegetable is known for its high soluble and insoluble fiber content. This vegetable is used in many recipes and is also a good source for nutritional diets, as it is highly beneficial. It contains calories, proteins, etc. Vendakka paal curry is very tasty and one of the traditional recipe in Kerala. This Lady finger or Okra recipe is easy and simple to prepare in our kitchen.
Wash the ladies finger with water and wipe with a kitchen towel. Cut them into medium pieces. Heat 3 tbsp coconut oil in a non stick pan and add ladies finger pieces.
Saute for 5 minutes in low flame. Now add onion pieces and slit green chillies and saute for another 5 minutes . Then add thin coconut milk along with turmeric powder and cook for 10 minutes by closing the pan in medium heat.
Add salt and thick coconut milk to it and mix well. Do not boil the curry after adding the thick coconut milk. Add lemon juice and mix well. Switch off the flame. Heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of coconut oil, mustard seeds, dry red chillies and curry leaves.
And add these items into the curry. Tasty vendaka paal curry is ready. Served with cooked rice. Note: How to make ( Onnam Paal / ഒന്നാം പാൽ ): First take 2 cup of grated coconut and grind it for a few seconds in a mixer grinder. Then add 1 cup of warm water and grind it nicely. Strain the ground coconut using a strainer. It is in thick form. Note: How to make ( Randam Paal / രണ്ടാം പാൽ ): Now add 1 more cup of warm water to the already ground coconut and grind it again nicely. Again strain the ground coconut with a strainer.
