Watermelon Juice With Mint Leaves – Beverage Recipe – Refreshing drink

Watermelon is a vine-like flowering plant originally from southern Africa. Its fruit, which is also called watermelon, is a special kind referred to by botanists as a pepo, a berry which has a thick rind and fleshy center. Watermelon not only boosts your “health esteem,” but it  has excellent levels of vitamins A and C and a good level of vitamin B6. A two-cup serving of watermelon is also a source of potassium, a mineral necessary for water balance and found inside of every cell.

People with low potassium levels can experience muscle cramps. One cup of watermelon contains only 46 calories and about 20% RDA of vitamins A and C. One cup also contains 5% RDA of potassium.

Watermelon is sweet yet mild. A great quick fix drink with just few ingredients, a quick spin in the blender and it’s ready to serve. Watermelon is a universal fruit and many people just love to have this fruit. Watermelon contains lot of Vitamins, Potassium, low in Sodium and has little or no fat content in it. It has lot of water content (91%) and good to be consumed especially in the summer season. It is packed with vitamins and antioxidants and is also a rich source of fiber. It is fat free and also cholesterol free.

Ingredients

  • Watermelon - 2 cups (de-seeded and Chilled)
  • Chilled Water - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1 1/2 cups
  • Lemon Juice - 1 1/2 tbsp
  • Mint Leaves - To Garnish
  • Ice cubes - 4 nos

Method

Step 1

Peel and cut the watermelon, then remove its seeds.

Step 2

In a blender place the peeled and de seeded watermelon cubes, sugar, lemon juice and chilled water and blend until smooth. Strain the juice.

Step 3

Serve the chilled watermelon juice in a tall glass after adding the small pieces inside and add ice cubes and mint leaves.

Step 4

The refreshing watermelon juice is ready.
