Falafel is one of the most widely consumed and recognized foods of the Middle East. It is a great source of protein for people who have cut meat out of their diet. It is relatively low in fat and has no cholesterol if you fry it in heart-healthy grape seed oil.
Here I am sharing Falafel recipe with you. I have used white chickpeas for making this Middle Eastern Falafel. Fried balls or patties of chickpeas with spices make falafel both tasty and easy to prepare.

Ingredients
- White chick peas - 1 cup
- Onions - 1 chopped
- Garlic - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp
- Mint leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Parsley leaves - 1 tbsp (chopped)
- Salt to taste
- Vegetable oil - 3 cups
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Method
Step 1
Soak the white chick peas in water overnight. Clean, wash and drain. Blend it in a mixer to a coarse paste.
Step 2
Add all the remaining ingredients except oil and mix well.
Step 3
Form the chickpea mixture into balls. Heat the oil in a pan and deep-fry the balls till they turn golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.
Step 4
Tasty Falafel is ready to be served .
