Boiled Yam is A.K.A Kachil puzhungiyathu in malayalam language. There are different types of kachil or yam and for this recipe, i used purple yam. Kachil (ย เดเดพเดเตเดเดฟเตฝ ) is a perfect combination with green chilly chutney.
It can be used as a teatime snack or nalumani palaharam with a hot tea. It is very tasty and very easy to prepare within minutes with less ingredients. It can be served during a get together parties with the friends or other family members and surprise them with this special dish.

Ingredients
Take the Kachil or purple yam then peel off the skin and wash well with water. Cut into medium sizes. In a pressure cooker add the kachil pieces, salt and enough water to cook. Close the
pressure cooker and place it over the fire and cook for 1 whistle. Then open the cooker and strain the water using a colander. Now the Boiled Yam is ready. Keep aside. To prepare the pachamulaku chammanthi or green chilli chutney, put the green chillies, shallots and salt into the mixer grinder and grind coarsely. Remove it into a bowl and mix with coconut oil. Mulaku chammanthi is ready. Enjoy the boiled yam with mulaku chammanthy.Method
