For Chakka Avial, we need raw jack fruit pieces. It should not be ripen, as it will sweeten our dish. Adding coconut paste gives a nice aroma and flavor to the chakka avial. The grated coconut should be coarsely grinded and not make into paste.
The fruit is deliciously sweet in taste. It is also rich in energy, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins and free from saturated fats or cholesterol.

Ingredients
Cut the jackfruit pieces into thin pieces lengthwise.
Grind the grated coconut, cumin seeds, green chillies into a medium coarse paste. Heat a pan, add jack fruit pieces, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, raw mango pieces, salt and water. Close with a lid and cook this for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, open the lid and add ground coconut paste and mix well. Cook this for 3 minutes more. Now open the lid and mix every thing together. Add curry leaves and coconut oil. Mix together and remove from the heat. Tasty Chakka Avial is ready.Method
