Homemade chicken samosa – Ramadan special Malabar samosa is one of the favorite dish made in Muslim homes for Iftar. The samosa’s made by my mother’s expert hands are perfectly triangle shaped while mine is little distorted shapes. “Practice makes perfect samosa”. But both tastes awesome as the recipe is same as my mother cooks.

Ingredients

  • To make the Samosa sheet
  • 2 cup Maida
  • 3 spoon Ghee
  • Salt to taste
  • Warm Water
  • To make the Chicken masala:
  • 1/2 kg minced boneless Chicken
  • 1 tbsp Ginger paste
  • 1 tbsp Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp Red Chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp Fennel seeds
  • 1/4 tbsp Garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying the chicken

Method

Step 1

Cook chicken by mixing all masala items and make the chicken masala dry by stir frying.

Step 2

Make soft dough with maida, ghee and salt. The dough should be of chapathi consistency.

Step 3

Roll the dough in to thin round shape. Cut each round shape into 4 pieces.

Step 4

Fill one tbsp dry chicken masala in one of the piece of dough. Then fold into triangle shape.

Step 5

Heat oil in a pan. Deep fry samosa in this oil. Ramadan special Malabar samosa is ready to serve hot.
