Kaiveeshal Appam കൈവീശൽ അപ്പം – Malabar Iftar Snack Recipe

Kaiveeshal Appam is one of the easiest and tastiest snacks from Malabar.

We can prepare it with minimal ingredients. You can serve it as an Iftar Snack.

Ingredients

  • Maida - 125 gm
  • Egg - 3 nos
  • Sugar - 1/2 cup
  • Cardamom Powder - 1 pinch
  • Oil - 1 cup
  • Salt to taste

Method

Step 1

Take a bowl and add a pinch of salt, 3 eggs and beat well.

Step 2

Then add 1/2 cup of sugar, a pinch of cardamom powder and maida.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients together. The consistency of the batter should not be too thin nor too thick. No need to add water.

Step 4

Clean a coconut shell and make one hole.

Step 5

Pour this batter into the coconut shell by closing it with one finger.

Step 6

Heat oil in a non stick pan. Bring the coconut shell over the pan and remove the finger and pour the batter in circular motion. Fry both sides till done.

Step 7

Like this prepare all Kaiveeshal Appams by using remaining batter.

Step 8

Tasty Kaiveeshal Appam is ready to serve.
