Kerala Chicken Fry (Nadan Kozki Porichathu) is one of the main dish in Kerala non-vegetarian category. This spicy recipe is simple and easy to make. You should use coconut oil for frying chicken to get the actual Kerala chicken fry taste.
Ingredients
- 1 kg Chicken cut into pieces
- Kashmiri Chilli powder - 2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1 tbsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tbsp
- Fennel seed powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Black pepper powder - 2 tbsp
- Ginger paste - 1 tbsp
- Garlic paste - 2 tbsp
- Curry leaves - 30 leaves
- Salt to taste
- 2 Onion - chopped (For garnishing)
- Coconut Oil for frying
Method
Step 1
Mix all ingredients with chicken except chopped onion and oil. Marinate the chicken for 1 to 2 hours.
Step 2
Heat oil in a deep-thick bottomed pan (Kadai or cheena chatty).
Step 3
First fry the onions, until golden brown and keep aside for garnishing the chicken.
Step 4
Then deep fry chicken along with curry leaves. Serve hot after garnishing with golden fried onions. Enjoy!!!
