Meat Box Recipe / Erachi Petti Recipe / ഇറച്ചി പെട്ടി is a traditional Malabar Recipe. It can be served as iftar snack and it is a good starter recipe too.

Meat Box Recipe – Erachi Petti Recipe – ഇറച്ചി പെട്ടി – Homemade Recipe
It is basically stuffed pancakes. The appearance of the pancake is like a box and hence the name irachi petti. The chicken fillings are placed inside the pancakes and folded like a box. Each pancake box is dipped in egg mixture and fried.

Ingredients
- Chicken - 500 gm
- Onion - 1 no (chopped)
- Green chilliy - 3 nos (chopped)
- Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Red Chilly powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Tomato - 1/2 piece (chopped)
- Coriander leaves - 1 tsp (chopped)
- Curry leaves - a few (chopped)
- Coconut oil - 1 cup
- All purpose flour - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1
- Water - 1 cup
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Take a pressure cooker, add chicken with salt and turmeric powder. Once cooked, shred the chicken using a mixer.
Step 2
Heat coconut oil in a pan, add ginger garlic paste, green chilies and chopped onions. When the onions become transparent, add chopped tomato. Cook for 2 minutes.
Step 3
Add pepper powder, red chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves, salt and saute well.
Step 4
Add the shredded chicken into it and mix well. The filling is ready.
Step 5
For making batter, add all purpose flour and salt in a bowl. Add enough water and make a pouring consistency.
Step 6
From this batter, make medium size dosas. Place the dosa in a plate, put 2 tbsp of the filling in the center of dosa and fold it like a box shape. Like this prepare all the boxes.
Step 7
Take egg in a bowl and add some salt. Beat well and keep it aside.
Step 8
Heat the oil in a pan for shallow frying. Dip each prepared pancake box in the egg mixture and shallow fry it in medium flame. Flip when one side turns golden brown.
Step 9
Place them on a tissue paper to drain excess oil.
Step 10
Tasty Meat Box is ready.
