Onion rings are very tasty and easy to prepare. They are crispy on the outside and very tender inside. These particular ones are covered in batter and then breadcrumbs and finally deep fried.

Ingredients
- Onion - 2 medium (cut into rings)
- Maida - 1 cup
- Baking powder - 1 tsp
- Egg - 1 (lightly beaten)
- Milk - 1 cup
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Corn flour - 1 tsp
- Bread crumbs - 1 cup
- Vegetable oil - 2 cups (for deep frying)
- White pepper powder - 1 tsp
Method
Step 1
Peel the onions and cut them into thick rings. Separate the rings carefully.
Step 2
In a bowl mix the maida,corn flour, baking powder,white pepper powder and salt. Roll each onion ring in the flour. Add the egg to the remaining flour. Whisk in the milk, a little at a time, until you have a uniform batter that is not too thick or too watery.
Step 3
Dip the onion rings in the batter one by one and shake off the excess. Roll the onion rings in the bread crumbs and coat them well.
Step 4
Heat oil in a pan to cover the onion rings. Put the coated onion rings into the hot oil, 2 to 3 at a time and fry until browned and crisp about 3 minutes.
Step 5
Remove onion rings and place on a butter paper.
Step 6
The crispy onion rings is ready to be served. Serve hot with tomato sauce.
