Ingredients
- Chicken - 500 gm
- Turmeric Powder - 1/4 tsp
- Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp
- Lime juice - 1 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Shallots - 4 nos
- Green chilly - 5 nos
- Onion - 2 nos (sliced)
- Tomato - 1 no (chopped)
- Ginger - 1 inch piece
- Garlic - 5 nos
- Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
- Vegetable oil - 5 tsp
- Soya sauce - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
Method
Step 1
Clean and cut the chicken into small pieces.
Step 2
Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, red chilly powder, pepper powder, lime juice, salt and keep it aside for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Grind the shallots, green chilly, ginger and garlic. Make a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
Step 4
Heat vegetable oil in a pan and add the sliced onions and saute for 5 minutes. When it turns to golden brown transfer it to a plate.
Step 5
Add the marinated chicken pieces in the same oil and deep fry them and keep it aside.
Step 6
In the same oil add the ground mixture and saute it well.
Step 7
Add chopped tomatos into it and saute till oil separates and tomato turns juicy. Then add fried chicken pieces, soya sauce, pepper powder, fried onions, coriander leaves and mix well. Then cook it for 4 minutes.
Step 8
Switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Step 9
Tasty chicken chilly roast is ready to be served with chapathi, pulav and porotta.
