Pineapple Pachadi, commonly known as Mathura curry (sweet curry) is a very popular dish in Kerala..This is a must item in all sadhyas (feast).

Ingredients

  • Sliced Pineapple - 100 gm
  • Yogurt - 10 ml
  • Grated Coconut - 200 gm
  • Green Chilly - 5 nos
  • Red Chilli Powder - 1/2 tspn
  • Turmeric Powder - 1 tspn
  • Salt to taste
  • Cumin Seed - 5 gm
  • Cane Sugar -5 gm
  • Mustard Seed -25 gm
  • Coconut Oil -100 gm
  • Curry Leaves

Method

Step 1

Cut the Pineapple into slices.

Step 2

Cook the Pineapple in a vessel by adding water,chilli powder,turmeric powder, salt and green chilly.

Step 3

Grind the coconut,cumin and mustard seeds into smooth paste.

Step 4

Add the above coconut mixture,yogurt and cane sugar to the cooked Pineapple mixture. Mix everything and allow to blend the coconut mixture with the Pineapple. Once cooked switch off the flame.

Step 5

For Seasoning : Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard and once spluttering is complete add curry Leaves.

Step 6

Add the above seasoning to the Pineapple mixture. Allow it to cool for 2 minutes. Pineapple curry is ready to be served.
